The Abrave Search Engine is a beta launch search engine powered by The abrave spider, a robot/search spider/web crawler program. This program replaces the Alpha released Gallent/Gallent Search Spider program released by Gallent Limited. The abrave spider uses in-house designed technology that is unique to robot technology.

The abrave spider makes strategic decisions when it crawls the web in a way unlike any other robot. Live decisions are made about what the content of the page is and whether it is suitable to save or to search other pages from that site. This helps keep our vast database free of thousands of pages that can best be described as ‘irrelevant content’ and of no importance to you, the search engine user. Because of this, the results gathered by the abrave spider are instantly updated in the index and are made instantly available on our sites.

We have also implemented a confidence scale where we openly display at the top of each internet search how confident we are that the results we are showing will fulfil exactly what you are searching for. The confidence scale is as follows:

= 'Low' confidence.
= 'Medium' confidence.
= 'High' confidence.

Even with a 'Medium' confidence scale for the majority of times the results shown will still be what you are searching for and often with a 'Low' confidence scale rating too but by implementing this scale we are bringing an honesty to search engines that has not been seen before. We are taking the arrogance out of the search industry by openly displaying how confident we are that the results being displayed for any given search will match what you are searching for. It should be noted that the abrave spiders that perform the indexing for abrave.co.uk, only index UK based websites and therefore the confidence scale for results related to other countries will always be low. Another reason why the confidence score may be low is because the abrave spider may simply not have found the relevant site yet if you are searching for a more obscure subject. Other search engines have of course benefited from additional help over the years by having numerous website owners submitting website links directly to them. Abrave is a search engine started from scratch that gets better daily and significantly better weekly.

At present, in order for a page to be listed on abrave.co.uk, for the majority of cases that page needs to obtain a Point Rank™ score of at least 10 points. Abrave is a showcase site for demonstrating the possibilities for the Abrave Spider and Search Engine and for that reason some queries may not be fulfilled. The possibilities for this technology are limited only to the power of the platform it operates on.

We have created the technology that could potentially allow any company in the world to start a search engine with our help because we are able to tailor our robot technology to index the types of sites that are specific to any search engine requirements or provide a robot crawler solution that will search global sites for all domain extensions. This is something that we are considering offering in the future to all companies.

Abrave has plans to grow multiple revenue streams including banners and PPC sponsored listings. Abrave is considering increasing their hardware because the power of Abrave is limited only to the performance of the platform it runs on.
